Forward Air Controller Simulator (FACSIM)

The Forward Air Controller Simulator (FACSIM) provides a training environment for Forward Air Control (FAC) officers and FAC teams. Using the FACSIM, trainees improve mission planning and execution skills while directing the actions of the aircraft engaged in Close Air Support (CAS) of land forces, naval vessels engaged in Naval Gun Fire Support (NGFS), and land forces engaged in indirect fire missions. FACSIM provides realistic simulated situations to offset the cost, safety, and equipment availability restrictions associated with live training.

Amphibious Light Armoured Vehicle Simulator (ALAV)

Amphibious Light Armoured Vehicles (ALAVs) are designed to safely transport infantry to the battlefield or provide fire support to dismounted infantry. Due to their light armour and limited firepower, crews must be well trained to ensure full tactical awareness in a very dynamic environment in order to ensure mission success. The ALAV simulator is designed for training the driver and the gunner/radio operator through customizable threat scenarios, with the benefit that training is conducted in a safe environment, and without incurring any cost in fuel or ammunition.

Rigid Hull Inflatable Boat Simulator

Small fast marine craft, such as rigid hull inflatable boats, are increasingly used by marines and Special Forces for special operations, such as anti-terrorist and anti-piracy missions. The Rigid Hull Inflatable Boat (RHIB) Simulator provides a realistic environment for training up to 3 students on board an RHIB craft. The immersive virtual environment features helm controls, a removable mounted gun, and simulated small arms. The 3 degrees of freedom (DOF) motion base platform is in front of a 240º horizontal and 60º vertical screen which recreates a true-to-life experience with realistic visuals and movement.
