Since 2000, CGX has been intervening at both the national and international levels in four major transport aviation axes: information management, instrument flight trajectory planning, airports and aviation companies (ICAO, EASA, IATA, CANSO, IFAIMA, etc.).
Our teams are composed of aviation experts (engineers, pilots, traffic controllers, designers of instrumented flight planning software, and cartographers) who are recognised, at the local, national and international levels, as having solid experience with civil and military aviation companies and airports.

Its navigation services employ internally-developed software, in addition to the suite AIM developed by CGX and its partners (ENAC and THALES).

Safety

Safety is paramount to ATM and the safety of both current and future systems needs to be ensured and constantly improved upon. Whether it is a safety measure included in a simulation, or a safety culture assessment across operational staff, we have the right skills to help.

We are aware that any indication a system may not be safe will immediately render it unacceptable to the controller community – so we aim to test safety over and over again.
 Do you need to know your ESARR from your SPR? Your FHA from your HAZID? SRM from SAM? Or what puts the P in PSSA? Safety is a collective responsibility and the first thing we will do is help your organisation achieve a collective understanding of the processes. Whether it is conducting a workshop, performing an assessment, conducting a sensitive investigation or passing on our knowledge trough education and training, our clients trust us to confidently and calmly take them through a process which can otherwise seem daunting and difficult.

Validation

If an organisation is investing in change to their ATM system, it is important to be assured that the changes will deliver the benefits for which they have been designed – otherwise a lot of time, money and effort will have been wasted.

The application of a well-defined and proven Validation Methodology is an important tool in assessing any changes to the ATM Operational Concept. Validation proves ‘fitness-for-purpose’ of the end product, regardless of whether that product is a physical component, an airspace redesign, an implemented procedure or system or any other new operational concept. It answers the question “will my new system work in a safe and efficient manner that is acceptable to the users?”.

The application of a validation methodology throughout the development lifecycle has been shown to reduce the overall cost of the system’s implementation. In addition, the benefits of the system will be assured prior to its implementation.

For these reasons, programmes such as SESAR now adopt a validation based approach – with the European Operational Concept Validation Methodology (E-OCVM) forming the backbone of the programme.

Concept Development

The thought of replacing an ATM system, either in part or in full, can be daunting. A wide range of different aspects needs to be considered, such as: requirements generation; purchasing; tailoring; validation; verification; and training.
